Being always on the hunt for unique clothing, I was very drawn to vintage - particularly the 40's and 50's styles. When the vintage I wanted was getting too expensive and hard to find, I thought I should learn to sew and then would always have clothes nobody else has. So I bought a 1960's Singer and threw myself in the deep end! Seven years and three sewing machines later (I now love my industrial Juki and my domestic Janome) my wardrobe is almost entirely me-made. When I started getting requests from friends to make one-of-a-kind pieces for them too I couldn't say no.
